“Cherlene, where you been? I been looking for you for two days?”
“Ohhh Girl, I had to go get my eyes washed.”
“Your eyes washed? What’s that?”
“Well I had those little things floating in my eyes, so I took some Comit and scrubbed’em out good.”
“And that took two days?”
“No, that only took 10 minutes, but I spent two days in the hospital cleaning out the Comit.”
Are you suffering from “shadows” or see through “things” on your eyes? Have they been getting worse? Painful? Accompanied with flashes of light? If so, then you quite possibly need to find an Eye Floaters Treatment.
Eye Floaters Treatment: What are Eye Floaters?
Myodesopsia, more commonly known as Eye Floaters, is where a person has small moving spots that appear in their field of vision. They show up in the vision of people of all ages, but are most common between the ages of 50-75. Typically they are not bad enough to interfere with eyesight, but on rare occasions, and depending on the cause, they can require medical treatment. In some instances they require immediate attention. If you notice the following in your field of vision, you might need Eye Floaters Treatment:
- Dots (black eye floaters or grey eye floaters)
- Squiggly lines
- Threads
- Knobby threads or clumps
- Transparent shapes
- Cobweb-like
- Ring shaped
Much like snowflakes, there is no one shape that every Floater is going to look like. The important thing is, if you notice these, or any other shapes and shadows crossing your vision, it may be time to investigate further.
Eye Floaters Treatment: Causes
The cause of Myodesopsia is straight forward, but in order to tell you about it, we first must look at the basic makeup of the eye. Knowing what you’re dealing with may help you decide if you need Eye Floaters Treatment. The eye is made up of 5 basic parts:
- Lens – Used for focusing
- Cornea – Covers the eye
- Iris – Controls light allowed into the eye
- Retina – Back of the eye where images we see are projected
- Optic Nerve – Sends signal from the retina to the brain for processing
It also has another basic component known as Vitreous Humor, which is a gel-like liquid that fills the back compartment of the eye. It is in the Vitreous that we find the things that cause us to see Eye Floaters.
- As the eye ages and/or gets damaged there is sloughing off (peeling or breaking off) of fibrous material, mostly collagen.
- These fibers tend to unite and build bigger objects which float in the Vitreous.
- When light comes in through the Iris, these fibrous objects cause a shadow to appear on the Retina which appear to us as shadowy or transparent objects in our field of vision.
Once this happens it usually does not stop, but for the most part does not require Eye Floaters Treatment. They are an occasional oddity and nuisance, but little more . . . to most people.
As mentioned above aging and damage cause this “sloughing off” of material, but there are various things which can cause these things to happen:
- Eye Surgery
- Eye Disease
- Eye Injury
- Eye Infection
- Aging
- Diabetic Neuropathy (nerve cells dying)
- Tumors
Any one of these things can result in the need for Eye Floaters Treatment.
Eye Floaters Treatment: Concerns
Before we discuss some of the Eye Floaters Treatment, let’s talk about why you would need said treatment. It is highly likely that if you have Myodesopsia, you won’t need treatment, but there are a few cases, albeit rare, when you would definitely want to seek medical assistance.
- If your Eye Floaters increase over time
- If there is a sudden change in the frequency and amount of Eye Floaters
- If Myodesopsia appears after Eye Surgery or Trauma
- If you have pain associated with your Eye Floaters
- If there are “flashes” of light in your vision
If any one of these situations develop then seek medical help immediately as these could be signs of an
emergent condition. The concern being that these signs could be symptoms of:
- Retinal Detachment
- Retinal Tear
- Bleeding within the eye
Eye Floaters Treatment: Treatments
There are few options that one has when it comes to Eye Floaters Treatment.
- No treatment is usually needed.
- Eye Drops can keep the eye well lubricated which aids in comfort.
- There are select “natural” treatments that have had success and are available over the counter
- A Vitrectomy is the removal of the Vitreous Humor and thus the Eye Floaters. It is replaced by a saline solution.
- Laser Vitreolysis is Laser Treatment for Eye Floaters, it targets and destroys them through heat and implosions.
The last two treatments are effective, but costly and can develop complications. Doctors tend to use them only as a last resort.
What is the Most Common Eye Floaters Treatment?
When it comes to Eye Floaters Treatment your options are currently limited. The most common thing to do is nothing. However, if you notice increase in frequency or intensity, then it is a good idea to seek medical treatment. If there is pain or trauma to the eye, seek medical help immediately. So evaluate your condition and seek the appropriate Eye Floaters Treatment.

Pine sap dropped into my eye. Eye doctor prescribed eye drops but the drops made floaters appear. After rubbing my eye one night in bed some blood was shown in the floaters with a cob web. Eye surgeon finally decided that he wants to operate. I want to try Eye Floater No More. What are side effects? What is the price?.

After reading your excellent information about eye floaters, I guess I was really lucky in that mine seemed to go away on their own. I do notice a bit now and then now, but they’re very faint and don’t bother me at all. It used to be worse. Thanks for the great article.

I’ve had eye floaters since I was a young man, but only now that I’m in my late fifties are getting to be a problem. I sit in front of an array or computer screens, which I think highlights the floaters more. So I was researching treatment to reduce the number of floaters or get rid of them completely and ended up on your website. Excellent information and I will be trying your suggested treatment. Thanks!
